Orange and Black War Eagle Shirts

We’lll be cheering loud for Auburn come January 10th and know there will be other Beav fans doing the same.  After having a tough time tracking down Auburn gear locally, and hearing of others having the same issue, we decided we’d make our own.

They’re available in Black, Orange, and White with the other colors in the font and outline.  War  Eagle is written in the OSU style font that we all love as well.  Also, we’re selling them for about as cheap as Spreadshirt (who makes and will ship them) can make them.  These aren’t to make us money, they’re to help cheer against oregon on January 10th, and show our temporary Auburn pride until then.

Click on the images above to go to our Spreadshirt store to buy either of the shirts above or one in white.

War Eagle and Go Beavs!

Who actually started the fire after the Civil War

A video has surfaced of the majority of the shirt burning on the Beaver logo after the Civil War.

Here’s the video:

It seems to me that everyone thinks that the guy wearing the #9 Legarrette Blount jersey is the one who started the fire, but after seeing the video we might have an even more clear picture of the person who started the fire.  I still think #9 should be charges as he threw the fire on the turf where it burned yet another section of the logo, but perhaps we should be trying to identify another person.

If you look at the first 27 seconds of the video you can see it’s being held at first by someone wearing a baseball style coat with green and yellow on the sleeves and then it is passed to someone wearing black sleeves and appears to have some camo in his outfit.  If you look at the picture from the Portland Tribune, it appears that the people who first started the fire are on the left side circled below.

The guy with the black Oregon O sweatshirt and Championship belt (really?) appears to be lighting a cigar on the already lit fire at the beginning of the video as well.  It doesn’t appear he started the fire as lighting a shirt on fire would pretty tough to do with a cigar.

So anyone know who those two guys on the left are?  Particularly the one wearing the Ducks pullover baseball coat?

Another place to look could be the person who uploaded the above video to Youtube.  His handle is “ilovemyducks31″ and here’s what he had to say in the description of the video:

CORVALLIS — Oregon State Police want to have a little chat with the exuberant University of Oregon fan whose post-Civil War victory celebration Saturday in the center of the field at Reser Stadium might have charred the Beavers’ logo, causing an estimated $1,500 worth of damage to the turf.

this was not me i was just having a good time fing the beaver field up

So he quotes a paper, then says it wasn’t him but that he was “just having a good time fing the beaver field up.”  “Fing” up the field seems to imply more than dancing around celebrating and chanting BCS as many of the other fans were doing.  As much as Beaver fans hated seeing the duck fans celebrating, I wouldn’t describe most of them as “fing” the field up until I saw this video.

“ilovemyducks31″ on Youtube also joined Youtube on Dec. 4, 2010.  The day of the Civil War.  He has not had any other videos posted, and lists his age as 20.

Other actions he has taken on Youtube have been

  • commenting on a video of Blount punching Byron Hout two days ago saying “lol the ESPN guys is a fag it”
  • Liking his own video which he uploaded of the flaming shirts
  • Commenting about a Auburn video “wait wait what do tigers smell like ??????????”

I’m not saying that this is the person who burned the turf and the shirt, but the title information he’s added to the video, as well as the fact that this is his first and only video uploaded seems to be something to look at.

If you have more information please call call Senior Trooper Orly Johnson at 541-737-3010 or e-mail at orly.johnson@oregonstate.edu.

UPDATE: Police have made an arrest in the case.  Here’s the mug shot of the person they arrested:

Is he the guy who was wearing the Blount jersey or the guy wearing the green coat who was holding the shirt at the beginning of the video?

Here’s the complete report from the Benton County Sheriff’s office.

Duck throwing low punch at Civil War

After the tackle it appears that Dwight Roberson (#59) decides to start yelling at Josh Huff (#4) but if you look at Josh Huff’s left arm it sure looks like he gives Roberson a low blow from below as Roberson is turning away.  Seems that a punch should have drawn a flag and an automatic ejection, but instead the refs just tell Roberson to walk away.

First Look at new OSU Pro Combat Unis

Traditional.  Look like the Giant Killer’s Unis.  It is interesting to note that we’re using the block O after we’ve spent so much time going away from it with the new OS.  Also, the sleeves will be interesting, as not everyone will wear the pr combat under shirt which is where the stripes are located (not on the jersey itself).

What do you think?

Oregon State Pro Combat Mock-up

For those of you who can’t wait another 12 hours to see the real Pro Combat uni’s the Beavers will be wearing in the Civil War, I decided to mock up what I believe the uni’s will look like.  This is based on photos of the 1967 Giant Killer Uniforms, as well as updating them a little to give them a modern nod with the throwback look.  My guess is that Nike will have further updated to the style, the numbers will probably have some crazy detail with a nod to the Giant Killers, and perhaps even some interesting stitching, but I’m guess this will at least be the framework for tomorrow’s unveiled jersey(s).

What do you think?  You like the look, think it will be similar to what we see (probably without all of the detail we’ll see in the stitching, the numbers, etc), or are we way off?

Oregon State Pro Combat Info Leaked

Thanks to @Beaversfootball for help finding a color pic of the Giant Killers.

Looks like we were given a little bit of a glimps into what the Pro Combat Uni’s which will be unveiled tomorrow at 7am PST on Facebook will look like.

According to a press release, released early on Hurricane Sports it looks like the Uni’s will be a throw back to the 1967 Giant Killer Uniforms.  According to their report:

Oregon State: Retro design revives a look worn by the victorious 1967 “Giant Killers.”

And they also say that Steve Preece will be on hand for the unveiling as he was on the Giant Killers team of 1967!

I could only track down a black and white picture, as well as a color image of the helmet, but if anyone has any more info, please say so in the comments and I’ll update the post!  According to the image, I’d image we’ll have black jerseys with orange numbers, white pants, and a black throwback helmet of some kind.  My guess is that there will be the OS logo on the side of the helmet which would give it an updated retro look.

UPDATE:  The announcement also says that we will be wearing them during the Civil War and not during this Saturday’s TCU game.

Here’s the photos I could track down of what we wore in 1967

To see what the other schools will be unveiling See the original release on the Miami site here

Also, see our mockup of a mixture of the 1967 Uni’s with a few updates (New logo) which may be similar to the uni’s unveiled tomorrow: Pro Combat Mock Up
